Description of the research topic:
The PhD student will do research in the following field:
Interested students may choose a sub-topic within the above broad frame according to their personal preferences.
Such sub-topics might be
• Fuzzy rule based models, especially dense and sparse rule bases, flat or hierarchical models, fuzzy signature rule bases (construction, applications, analytic study)
• Fuzzy signatures, situational maps, fuzzy signature state-machines (study of operations, analytic questions, applications in fuzzy communication, intelligent robots, logistic modeling, etc.)
• Fuzzy cognitive maps (analytic study, applications for modeling, model reduction, sustainable systems, etc.)
• The application of evolutionary and population based optimization algorithms, meta-heuristics for constructing fuzzy models based on input-output data.
The detailed research plan will be discussed with the interested student and specified afterwards.
Further requirements: It is necessary that participating students have an interest for modeling and theoretical computer science. It is not necessary but advisable to have some preliminary study of the basics of the chosen topic (e.g. fuzzy sets, genetic algorithms, etc.)
Deadline for application: 2019-04-30
