Description of the research topic:
Acute brain injury gives rise to the spontaneous occurrence of spreading depolarization events, which contribute to the expansion of the lesion, and worsen injury outcome. Since age is an independent risk factor for the occurrence of acute brain injury, such as stroke, the research sets out to assess the age-dependent pattern of the evolution of spreading depolarization.
