Description of the research topic:

The great success of the sum of ranking differences (SRD) procedure enabled us to introduce it to a wide range of applications. According to a detailed literature survey that although “fingerprints” are defined in numerous scientific fields differently, their evaluation, grouping and similarity analysis are not solved yet; however, they can be solved using existing techniques and ones to be developed in the future. Therefore, we aimed (i) to determine the similarity of compounds used in pharmaceutical chemistry, drug design, to filter compound libraries according to various concepts; (ii) to differentiate spectra and chromatograms, to detect outliers; (iii) to evaluate sensory attributes and overall liking of food products and (iv) to compare the methods used in forensic fingerprint analysis.
