Description of the research topic:
Role of cartographic, geographic, historic and linguistic approach to understanding the different usages of geographical names (translation, transcription and transliteration of toponyms). Various writing systems and their transformation into other systems. National and international standards and solutions. Cartographic representation of place-names. Interpretation of the use of place-names of other countries, gazetteers.
