A kutatási téma leírása:

In the Wigner RCP, an optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) spectrometer in a confocal microscope arrangement is deployed for coherent manipulation of electronic and nuclear spin states of individual room-temperature solid-state quantum bits, such as nitrogen-vacancy centre in diamond, with using illumination and microwave impulses.

Description:
In the Wigner RCP, an optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) spectrometer in a confocal microscope arrangement is deployed for coherent manipulation of electronic and nuclear spin states of individual room-temperature solid-state quantum bits, such as nitrogen-vacancy centre in diamond, with using illumination and microwave impulses.

The candidate’s task is to investigate these ODMR centres as well as implement the quantum informational protocols given by the supervisor. These studies are carried out in a tight cooperation with the University of Vienna, giving the student an opportunity to practice the ODMR spectroscopy there. The candidate contributes to the development of the spectrometer itself, in which the range of measurements is to be extended to include low temperatures and a wider range of electronic spin and nuclear spin resonance, in order to measure a larger set of solid-state quantum bit candidates. These efforts and studies will be carried out in a wide international network with leading laboratories all around the world. Results are expected to be published in prestigious journals as well as scientific workshops worldwide including the USA and Asian countries.
