Description of the research topic:

There is a great variety of metal structures, metal products and critical machine parts also made of metals and alloys, where, in principle, one can find several alternative solutions to mitigate the risk of their failure due to corrosion. In this respect the application of the most modern managing technologies could add a lot to the proper selection and application of close to optimal corrosion protective measures. The study should focus on at least one specific industrial case and work out a novel and effective technology for its/their corrosion protection. On the other side, the aim of the study is to analyse the role of corrosion management in prevention of corrosion accidents related primarily to safety of personnel and the environment. Corrosion management is achieved by use of anti-corrosion control measures, corrosion monitoring, regular inspection and studying of related corrosion phenomena. The reasons of inevitability of corrosion failures and ways for their decreasing are analysed.
