Description of the research topic:

The comparison of literary texts, especially those belonging to the genre of drama, with other branches of art may provide a new analytical aspect. The Baroque-Classicist dramaturgy of the 17th century is thoroughly connected to visuality, consequently, it would be a fruitful project to discuss the various manifestations of visuality in the works of 17th century authors in the context of present day visual culture. The methodological problem of the comparison of artworks from different branches of art (literature and theatrical performance, literature and plastic arts, literature and music etc.) seems yet unresolved. Bearing in mind the classical principle of ut picture poesis, a new research may be inaugurated to reveal its relativity (or its possible invalidity).
