Description of the research topic:
Machine translation is one of the most popular and most vivid research areas of language technology. From time to time new approaches arise and promise breakthrough results. However, for Hungarian none of these methods have been able to generate translations that match the quality of machine translation between larger languages. The most recent methods are neural-network-based translations. Related topics are the development of computer-aided translation tools and the automated estimation of translation quality.
