Description of the research topic:
The task of Fuzzy Rule Interpolation (FRI), or Fuzzy Interpolative Reasoning (FIR), where the fuzzy conclusion is calculated in an interpolative manner from the fuzzy rule base is still not completely defined. There are numerous FRI, or FIR methods exist each of them having their strength and weakness. The goal of the research is to set up a comprehensive framework and benchmark system to categorize and evaluate the benefits and typical weakness of different FRI, or FIR solutions.
