Description of the research topic:

Pure, secondary microglial cell cultures established from pimary mixed neuronal-glial cultures from the forebrain tissues of embryonal or newborn rats will be characterized by different pheno- and genotyping methods. Morphological, immunocytochemical and functional (cell proliferation and motility, mRNA expression, protein expression and secretion, phagocytosis, etc.) studies will be employed to characterize the microglial cells.
