Description of the research topic:
Natural products and their synthetic analogs play a crucial role in the development of innovative anticancer agents. The purpose of the open project is the identification of natural products isolated from plant samples and synthetic molecules which exhibit promising pharmacological profile and are suitable for further drug development. The most substantial part of the experimental work will be carried by in vitro methods (MTT assay, cell cycle analysis, western blot, fluorescent staining) using adherent malignant cell of gynecological origin (MCF7, T47D, MDA-MB-231, SiHa, HeLa, MDA-MB-361, A2780, C33A). The cancer selectivity of the tested agents will be characterized by non-cancerous fibroblast cells.
