Assessing the pragmatic nature of L2 acquisition. Empirically based (corpus-based and psycholinguistic) techniques of analysing interlanguage phenomena in English. Case studies based on the analysis of (i) discourse coherence and cohesion, (ii) speech acts, (iii) lexical pragmatics. Pedagogical perspectives.
