Az új infokommunikációs technológiák nem csupán új tereket nyitnak a retorikai gyakorlatnak, hanem annak rendszerére és jellegére is alakítóan hatnak. Lehetséges résztémák: újmédia-kommunikáció és retorika, a szöveg mint interfész retorikája, heuretika és retorika, digitális retorika (új kánon).
