A kutatási téma leírása:

Brief description of the research topic:
One of the new manufacturing technologies found in industry is additive manufacturing. Additive manufacturing, as a new technology, requires new design guidelines from engineers and, in parallel, we also encounter new behavioural characteristics for different components. In today's economy struggling with a shortage of energy and raw materials, it is important to know in as much detail as possible the behaviour of components made with additive technology under different load conditions. The research places great emphasis on the examination of components under constant load for a long time.
During the research work, we plan to carry out the following important activities:

1. Literature and patent research related to the topic. Analysis of the results achieved so far, mapping of possible additive manufacturing processes.
2. Study of currently known fatigue and creep processes. Systematization of the similarities and differences found between the characteristics of the components produced in the traditional way and those produced with additive technology.
3. Exploiting the possibilities of additive manufacturing in the case of complex geometric designs. Identification of missing design parameters.
4. Systematization, evaluation, and summary of the achieved results.
5. Continuous publication of the achieved results.
Research conditions:
In recent years, the Institute of Machine and Product Design of the University of Miskolc has conducted research on the technical properties of components created by additive manufacturing. The institute currently has four additive manufacturing equipment, which is an excellent basis for research. Microscopic examinations are available at the institute, which help to identify the source and the type of the damages. In addition, engineering and mathematical program systems are available, which can be used to support research work.
