Identifying molecular changes in various tumors may reveal novel biomarkers or therapeutic targets. In this project we are collecting human melanoma and glioma samples for molecular analysis. Tissue sections will be monitored by Imaging Mass Spectrometry for lipidomic, proteomic or metabolomic changes in the tumor or in the tumor microenvironment (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32733643/). For molecular fingerprinting and identification untargeted and targeted analytical approaches will be applied. Aim of this work is to identify promising, targetable molecules of the tumor and its microenvironment. Ideal candidate for this project has reasonable analytical skills.
