The complex biochemical equilibria in living bodies as reversible chemical reactions are based on a series of weak molecular interactions. The weak character of these interactions resulted that the molecular environment has high impact on these interactions. In our preliminary studies the structure of water and primary alcohols and mixtures of those and other protic and non-protic solvents have been investigated as model of the molecular environment in the living biological systems. Results of those investigations confirm the determinant role of the solvent structure in the solvation shells of molecules interacted further the macroscopic properties of these solvents. Those findings have been supported by our previous investigations performed on the interactions of micotoxins and serum albumins and also inclusion complexes of drugs and cyclodextrins or cavitands. The applicant will investigate the role of the background processes whose are based on the effects associated with the solvent structure around some drug molecules. Theoretical (molecular modelling) and experimental (fluorescence, NMR, IR, Raman and calorimetric) methods will be applied during these investigations.
