A kutatási téma leírása:
The successful candidate will conduct research to investigate the
groundwater conditions and salinization processes at the Siwa Oasis. The
investigation site is an important water resource in the Western desert
of Egypt. Groundwater resources are being compromised by water logging,
increasing salinity and overexploitation.
The research will include fieldwork, laboratory analysis, groundwater
modelling, isotope analysis, geochemical and solute transport modelling.
The goal of the research is to understand groundwater flow conditions,
to reveal the process of salinization and to suggest sustainable water
management scenarios.
