A kutatási téma leírása:

The negative social phenomena that occur during economic crises are typically triggered by a low level of financial literacy and culture in society. One consequence typically identified is the deepening and prolongation of economic crises. Therefore, especially in the wake of economic crises, governments and the banking sector see the development of financial literacy as a matter of self-interest, as well as a preventive and topical task. From a global economic perspective, it must also be mentioned that the knowledge of and access to financial markets represent essential prerequisites for poor countries and their populations to catch up with their more developed peers.
The need to be aware of finances, financial markets and their accessibility, as well as of financial service providers and their products, is addressed differently in different societies and in different time periods. Their scientific exploration is essential for successful financial inclusion.
Money and capital markets and their key institutions are of particular importance for the functioning, funding and development of the economy. The role, development or impact of the global and EU financial system, its national entities or specific institutions can be assessed at the level of different economic units, by sector, in a historical/cultural cross-section, or through individual businesses of key importance.
In a narrower sense, the scientific and/or practical study and awareness of ever-changing financial markets and their knowledge offer many new insights. In particular, the studying of Hungarian, Continental European, Asian and Anglo-Saxon types of financial markets is recommended dur to their different traditions, historical customs and financial cultures. The analysis of individual financial cultures and the presentation of ethical aspects fit in with new research trends in the post-crisis world.
