A kutatási téma leírása:
Water is becoming a more and more important resource in the production industry due to environmental and economic considerations. The reuse of process water in batch production facility can reduce the overall wastewater production and thus clean water usage. In order to do that, however, production steps must be scheduled appropriately.
A number of studies have already investigated this issue and provided MILP formulations to solve them. The job of the applicant is to investigate the applicability of other optimization tools for this field, such as directed graph based approaches, linearly priced timed automata, etc.
Prerequisites:
• Solid programming background, preferably in C/C++
• Fluent English

• Experience in chemical engineering

• Former experience in optimization
