A kutatási téma leírása:

In the era of Industry 4.0, companies can be more flexible and increase their performance through the digitalization and automation of their processes. However, digitalization requires new competences as well as a more flexible corporate work environment. New technological competences allow rapid adaptation, but also create new challenges in the field of HR.
On the one hand, difficulties with employees' digital competences, which include the use of digital technologies, understanding the opportunities and threats generated by the Internet, and communicating through online media; on the other hand, there are challenges related to the responsible use of available information and interactive media, and cooperation with smart technologies, which can be related to the behavior and digital attitude of employees. In the age of digitalization, the availability of Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) has increased exponentially, so their use requires a critical attitude towards the available information and the responsible use of interactive media. The use of digital technologies can be approached in terms of technological readiness and knowledge (digital competence), on the one hand, and behavior related to the use of tools (digital attitude), on the other. Digital readiness enables the workforce to be able to use digital tools consciously, productively for a given purpose, and to adapt quickly to the ever-changing work environment.

The aim of the research is
to execute a systematic literature review on digital readiness models;
to examine the digital readiness of companies - operating in the motherland country analyzing the level of digital competence and attitude of the employees;
to capture which digital technologies from Industry 4.0 are situated and are used and
to develop a framework model to develop the digital readiness of employees.
2/ A kutatási téma aktualitása

The digital transformation is a challenging process. There is a strong emphasis on raising the general level of digital competence in a society, as this competence has become so unavoidable in the 21st century that its acquisition is interpreted by UNESCO as one of the fundamental human rights. An appropriate level of proficiency in the use of digital technologies is a key competence that is needed not only by those working in the field of information technology, but also by all employees and citizens. People must be able to use digital technologies consciously and productively for a given purpose. The choice of tools is determined by the existence of an open attitude and the recognition of which tool is best suited to achieve the desired goal in relation to each activity. Through judicious use of tools, an individual is able to communicate effectively, efficiently, to share content, and to create knowledge.

Some research addresses the maturity of Industry 4.0, the digital transformation, while targeting 1-1 industries (manufacturing, electronics, and automotive). There is no information about a research that would examine the human aspect of digital readiness related to Industry 4.0.

3/ A kutatási téma által generált legfontosabb vizsgálandó kérdések megfogalmazása.

The aim of the research is to conduct a survey of workforces and managers of small, medium and large sized companies in a chosen country.
• How are companies prepared for the usage of Industry 4.0 technologies?
• What level of digital competence do the employees and managers of the surveyed companies have?
• What is the digital attitude of these companies?

Expected result of the research: The era of Industry 4.0 requires new competencies, behaviors and operating methods. Most companies have not yet identified the critical competencies needed to gain or maintain competitiveness. Furthermore, they do not have a methodology to assess the digital readiness of their employees. The result of the research could be the development of a framework for assessing digital readiness, as well as the design of a practical process that supports the digital readiness of the entire company.
