A kutatási téma leírása:
To date, there was no studies have focused on environmental factors and geographic variations in physical, anatomical and mechanical properties of wood of S. birrea trees to determine effective wood utilization in Sudan.
The main objective of this study is to determine effects of micro-environmental factors of different areas on some physical, anatomical and mechanical properties among and within trees of the S. birrea.
Specific objectives are:
- To determine anatomical features (number of vessels 1mm2, number of rays 1mm, tangential diameter of vessel element (μm), radial diameter of vessel element (μm), ray length (μm), ray width (μm), vessel element length (mm), fiber width (μm), lumen width (μm) and fiber thickness (μm).
- To determine basic density
- To determine modulus of rupture (MOR), modulus of elasticity (MOE), compressive strength parallel to the grain (CS//), shear strength parallel to the grain and toughness strength (SS//).
