A kutatási téma leírása:
Narrative texts show certain linguistic features which distinguish them from descriptive and argumentative texts. The main fields of analysis suggested for a doctoral thesis can be the following:
– temporal structure, i.e. temporal relations between story and discourse, as indicated by the use of tenses and temporal adjuncts,
– narrative distance and point of view, i.e. linguistic markers of objective / subjective narration.
The analysis can be based on a corpus of 19th-20th c. novels or short stories, mainly from the French literature, but not excluding the possibility of a comparative study of French, English and/or Hungarian texts.
