A kutatási téma leírása:

Horizontal axis wind turbine blades move in a vertical plane during normal operation. However, if the blades are exposed to uneven load then vibration may develop in the plane of motion or even in a direction perpendicular to that plane. Such problems may occur under various circumstances including ice accretion with different mass or shape on the blades of the same wind turbine, or ice shedding from a turbine blade, which acts as a sudden load removal from the blade. These dynamical problems are harmful for the wind turbine so that in some cases it should be shut down temporarily. The main goal of this research is to develop models that are applicable to predict the damage due to harmful blade vibration, and the ambient conditions leading to such vibration will be examined as well. The study involves numerical and laboratory modelling of the vibration due to uneven load on the turbine blades and to sudden load removal from a blade.
