A kutatási téma leírása:

a.) Antecedents:
The role of CO2 emitted by the power generation and by the industry is considered the major issue on the global climate change. It is no doubt that the future power generation should be carbon neutral. The new carbon neutral technologies have special impacts on the balance of the target-square of the energy politics (energy supply – cost of generation – environment protection – social affordability). Selection of particular carbon mitigation option usually is governed by the technical feasibility and economic viability, but also depends on many factors including fuel, financial parameters (carbon tax fixed charge factor), operational conditions of the plant (load factor, heat rate) and other parameter.
b.) Aim of research:
• Climate policy and energy policy analysis of the carbon emissions originated by the electricity generation sector.
• Analysis of carbonless technologies and their real-time optimal choice of applications.
• Comparative analysis of alternate carbon less energy production sources for optimum scenarios for transforming the power generation model.
c.) Tasks, main items, necessary time:
Critical analysis of scientific history, existing climate theory and energy policies (0,5 years). System models, economic evaluation and social aspects of fossil and fisy based carbonless or near carbon-free energy production modes (1 year). System models, economic evaluation and social aspects of renewable-based carbonless energy production modes (1 year), The multi criteria (technical-economic-environmental-social) theory of carbonless energy production system scenarios (0,5 years). Preparation of the thesis (1 year) The above periods are partially overlapping, each task can be performed in parallel.)
d.) Required equipment:
Computer, access to literature and databases, mathematical/simulation software
e.) Expected scientific results:
A complex design and evaluation process for the comparative analysis of carbonless energy production alternatives. Determination of the optimal, country specific scenarios for transforming the power generation structure.
Publishing 3-5 papers in the international journals with high impact factors, as well as to contribute several posters and/or oral presentations on at least 2-3 different scientific conferences
