A kutatási téma leírása:
A broad range of satellite data based bio-optical models are applied for water quality (WQ) monitoring of inland water bodies. Inversion of the models provide limited accuracies in detemining water quality constituent concentrations due to limitations in spatial and spectral resolutions of the earth observation data, as well as limited knowledge of the vertical distribution of some constituents, most importantly, of Chl-a. The proposed resarch aims at upscaling in situ radiation and WQ constituent distribution data from existing databases and further data collection campaigns to top-of-the-atmosphere radiation values, and inveting the model for monitoring the dynamics of water quality of surface water bodies at regional scale, using test areas in Hungary.
