A kutatási téma leírása:

When analysing the economic growth of various countries in the world it can clearly be seen that there are many economic, but also a number of non-economic factors which influence the characteristics of growth. In general, these factors have significant impact on the position any country takes in the global economy. This is an especially sensitive issue nowadays for the developing countries from among which not many could become winners of the globalization process. In order to maintain their position and be competitive on the global market it happens frequently that these countries mobilize their natural and human resources even at disadvantageous conditions (e.g. export containing low value added, low wages, loose environmental and occupational safety and health rules). However, big transnational corporations can still be reluctant to enter and explore new areas as from their point of view a new country or region means not only a chance to increase their profits but there are many kinds of risks they may face (social security and order within the country and also the safety and security of transportation, etc.)
In case of the majority of developing countries population grows rapidly, and even bigger proportion of the young generation faces problems to find a job. If people feel uncertain and no prospective for the future it can lead to negative implication. This may be revolution or civil war, increasing terrorism, or – as it can be felt nowadays - it can lead to transboundary and overseas migration of masses of people.
That is why it is very important task to examine how national governments - in their national competences or by international o-operation – can prevent or at least diminish these negative trends which are considered as economic risk factors by the global market. It is also worthwhile to examine how the available human, natural and financial resources could be utilized at a more efficient way in order to strengthen the sustainable economic development and to handle or solve the existing social problems in these countries.
