A kutatási téma leírása:
Learning about the regularities and sequential patterns of the environment is a vital part of life that underlies the acquisition of a wide range of skills. Yet, there is no profound understanding of and consensus on the exact mechanisms that underlie this fundamental learning ability; more specifically, 1) what the primary determinants of learning are, 2) how these factors alter the associations that we form based on the predictive relationships within event sequences, 3) how these factors alter the involvement of the underlying neural circuitries in learning, and 4) what the optimal combination of these factors is that can maximize learning performance? We specifically focus on the effects of time- and response-related factors, feedback, reward and explicit instructions.
