Banks are not simple intermediators of savings for the enterpreneurs in the real economy. They create money for purposes having no connection to the real world. We may look at most of this deals as spekulations. The accumulated savings are not in real assets but financial assets or real estates..Financial innovations helped to enlarge the housing industry helping by cheap finance of such investments. Population in advanced economies becomes more and more indebted and so do most of the governments. Paying interest makes the financial sector more and more rich.It has a growing share of GDP in most of the countries.(Financialization)It is worth to study the new efforts to limit banks ' money creating capacity, the so called Chicago plan and the consequences of the ever-lasting indebtedness for different countries.
