A kutatási téma leírása:
The prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in the past 15 years is held 5,3-9,3% based on Hungarian data. Thyroid dysfunction (TD) recognized during pregnancy occurs in 1-3%. It is well-known that vitamin D influences the glucose homeostasis and several authors reported the relationship between TD and vitamin D deficiency. The aim of the study is to investigate the effects examined commonly and separately of GDM and TD on pregnancy, delivery and new-born outcomes. We determine the free T3/T4 and total T3/T4 ratio in order to evaluate whether the conversion of T4-T3 in GDM differs from GDM-negative cases and whether this process is influenced by the serum level of 25(OH)D. Furthermore, we study which is the fraction of vitamin D that reflects the vitamin D supply of the pregnant women the most reliably: total 25(H)D, direct measured free 25(OH)D or free 25(OH)D calculated by binding proteins.
