Urban alleys used to play an important role in social cohesion of urban communities in Arabic old towns. As changes in the society occured urban alleys became neglected, resulting in powerful changes in urban spatial structures. In order to protect, revitalize and maintain the cultural heritage of urban alleys landscape landscape architectural research should find its answers focusing on sociological, urban planning and also landscape architectural aspects.
