High performance concrete is a widely used material in modern architecture. The research programme is focuses on the development of concrete compositions that comply with both high load-bearing and aesthetic requirements of visible concrete surfaces. For this reason the effect of nanoscale admixtures, fibres, non-metallic reinforcement systems will be investigated on the properties of concrete and recommendations will be given to design procedures.
