Description of research topic
Traditionally, research ethics had a focus on ethical issues concerning medical trials, but more recently these discussions started to cover ethical issues related to the integrity of science, like research misconduct, fabrication, and falsification, responsible conduct of research, authorship, and questionable research practices. The PhD candidate might select his or her own specific topic within this area, to conduct qualitative empirical or philosophical conceptual investigations on research integrity.
