Description of the research topic:
Human paleopathology, a field of life sciences that developed in the last 150 years, has always been in a need for accurate diagnostical methodology to describe, differentiate and interpret symptoms of various pathological processes occurring on human remains, especially bones. This particular PhD program and corresponding research project deals with typology and differential diagnosis of osteoarcheological lesions with classical macromorphological and molecular approaches. Besides investigating the signs of classical osteoarticular pathological processes, our research team also studies musculoskeletal (activity-induced) skeletal stress markers wilt multidisciplinary approaches.
