Akkor mondjuk, hogy egy kettős számsorozat Cesàro szummálható az s számhoz, ha a sor téglalap alakú részletösszegeinek a számtani közepe konvergál az s-hez. Elegendő (ún. Tauber típusú) feltételeket keresünk arra, hogy a Cesàro szummálhatóságból már következzék a közönséges konvergencia is.
Hasonló kérdés vethető fel egy kettős integrál esetésben is.
