Description of the research topic:

Exocentric compounds represent an intriguing field of word-formation. They are economical from the formal point of view because the compound head is not represented morphematically. By implication, they are not semantically transparent. The dissertation is expected to analyse and compare sufficiently large samples of exocentric compounds in two or more languages in terms of their formal structure and semantics.
