Description of the research topic:

The linear pattern of a tectonic map can be considered as subsequent curves or polylines, which are suitable for further mathematical analysis. With the general parameters of the tectonics and the surrounding lithology a mathematical model can be established, which describes the stress-field of the mapped region. The primary approach is to generate a polyline database from archive maps and satellite images of the tectonic objects then work out the method which can produce the stress-field estimation. Validation methods are given.
