Nowadays, however, it has become clear that criminal law cannot escape the effects of EU law. The topic examines the development tendencies of European criminal law and its effects on the criminal law of the Member States, focusing on the following issues: the European Union’s substantive criminal law and the Union's criminal law competences and legislation; means and institutions of the criminal law protection of the protection of the financial interests of the European Union; EU rules and their implementation by the Member States on certain criminal offenses belonging to the criminal competence of the EU.
