Description of the research topic:
The incidence of diabetes is increasing significantly worldwide. Distal sensorimotor polyneuropathy is the earliest detectable, common microvascular complication in diabetes and is often recognized only at an advanced stage due to its varied clinical manifestations. In our work, we process data from 621 patients who were examined at the Diabetic Neuropathy Center of the University of Debrecen between 2017 and 2022 and sought correlations between the presence of distal sensorimotor polyneuropathy and various laboratory parameters, microvascular and cardiovascular complications.
