Description of the research topic:

There is a growing demand for the use of wood, especially in the use of valuable wood that is resistant to biological pests and has high dimensional stability. Timber with such properties is usually slow-growing, so this need must be met from other sources. A good alternative to this is to modify wood with inherently less favorable physical-mechanical properties. Of the various methods, growing attention is paid recently to the combined use of different modification methods. Modification methods with different mode of actions can successfully complement the effect of each other and thus, significantly improve the durability, the dimensional stability or other material properties.
