Description of the research topic:
Today, cities face huge problems and challenges in transforming their transport systems and making them sustainable. Autonomous vehicles are expected to revolutionise transport in the coming decades and can make a significant contribution to solving urban
problems, if their integration is in line with the interests of cities. This integration poses a number of governance challenges, as different interests of different sectors and actors need to be harmonised and put at the service of cities. This process requires thorough preparation and preparation on the part of cities, which fundamentally affects planning and regulatory systems for urban transport, infrastructure, land use and urban budgets, while also requiring flexible adaptation on the part of economic and social actors and the population.
