Description of the research topic:

Tourism - as a result of its unprecedented dynamic growth in the past two decades - reached the limits of its social and environmental carrying capacity in many destinations by the end of the 2010s. One of the signs of the paradigm shift caused by this growth was the emergence of the concept of the visitor economy. In the case of visitor economies, on the one hand, other dimensions of sustainability beyond the economic goals become important, and on the other hand, the locals appear more strongly than before among the stakeholders. Well-being is a complex and multidimensional concept, based on individual evaluation, which in the past one and a half decade has been included in numerous documents of strategic importance discussing the fundamental issues of social development and advocating its measurement. The well-being dimensions of the

visitor economy can be examined in three dimensions: in the intersection of the two topics many research questions can be identified at the national, sectoral/regional and corporate levels, as well.
