Description of the research topic:
In the case of children’s and youth literature, the very definition of the term and the subject matter is difficult, since the majority of attempts to define this segment of literature are based on age. Quality texts, however, take into consideration not only age-related and developmental-psychological characteristics, but are also high-quality works poetically and aesthetically. The innovative trends of the last few decades have led to major changes in contemporary children’s and youth literature, both in terms of the themes covered, narrative technique, and visuality.
