Description of the research topic:

The research topic aims to address the theory of literary translation as a hermeneutical problem. The discussion of the issue of literary translation as interpretation draws on a wide range of literary theories (hermeneutics, narratology, intertextuality). The planned dissertations should address specific topics related to the theory and practice of Russian-Hungarian and/or Hungarian-Russian literary translation, such as interpretation and re-creation, translation as cultural transfer, the development of the translator’s concept and strategy, translatability, and the history of Russian-Hungarian and Hungarian-Russian literary translation.
