Description of the research topic:

Names are linguistic expressions denoting an individual person or object while they are also symbols that evoke a variety of feelings in name users depending on their relationship to the named person or object. A person’s own name that means oneself has a special importance. The research deals with different types of proper names that exhibit both linguistic and cultural ties and play an especially important role in identity expression and identity building.
