Description of the research topic:

Behavioral and emotional factors related to mental health problems, such as constant stress or excessive worrying, can affect muscles, posture, and body awareness. These physical changes can cause additional discomfort and pain, which backfire and negatively affect the individual's mental state. The resulting self-closing loop is a self-reinforcing negative process that can be interrupted by intervention at some point.
In our research, we examine university students who are challenged by the special situations of higher education. This changed life situation has an impact on both their mental health and their physical condition. For example, dietary habits may change, exercise and sports time may decrease, as a result of which the muscles cannot function properly. On the other hand, meeting the university's expectations and possibly failing exams are a significant stress factor.
In our research, therefore, we examine the correlations between negative mental and physical conditions - stress effects and muscle dysfunction - caused by an environmental change - university life - with the aim of helping to stop the self-stimulating process of the interaction of the two with the results of the research or even to influence it in a positive direction.
