Description of the research topic:

The research topic embraces some aspects of the oeuvre of writers who were not born in Great Britain but lived there for a considerable length of time. The research is expected to investigate how one or a couple of these authors contributed to the special character of British modernism. Writers to select from include Joseph Conrad, G. B. Shaw, Henry James, etc.
