Brief summary of the topic:
The aim of the development and research is to develop an omeprazole-containing suspension active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) release system that contains granules with a stomach acid-resistant coating.
The unique market character and ease of administration of the drug to be developed can serve as an excellent solution for the innovative treatment of diseases associated with acid overproduction in the field of veterinary medicine.
The pharmaceutical technology development aspects of the preparation to be developed:
- the development of two phases of the preparation: determination of the exact composition of an inert liquid carrier medium with a low pH value, and the acid-resistant coated granule phase containing the API,
- physical-chemical examination of the carrier medium,
- determining and optimizing the coating of the granule,
- examination of the physical-chemical parameters of the granulate,
- examination of the rheological characteristics of the granulate, focusing on a novel approach, using the theory of self-organized criticality,
- definition of production technology and product specifications,
- pilot production,
- mapping of registration opportunities by defining and carrying out the tests required.
