Description of the research topic:

As a notable feature of the global economy, the value chain, as a new model of international cooperation, plays a significant role in better integrating technology, resources, and markets. How does global cooperation affect regional emissions? What are the scale and composition of trade emissions? What role do supply and demand play in emissions? Can sustainable environmental development be achieved by actively embedding in the GVC? To achieve these objectives, it is first necessary to use the latest input-output databases, employ input-output models, and decompose trade added value to analyze the trade situations of different economies. Secondly, it's essential to analyze the interconnections across sectors, understanding the scale and trend of emissions in different countries and sectors. Thirdly, the research aims to incorporate the concept of sustainable environmental development into the classic pollution supply-demand model, thereby identifying the causes of carbon emissions. The study will investigate the impact of embedding into the global value chain on carbon emissions and analyze its mechanism.
