Description of the research topic:
The extent of loess grasslands in Hungary has decreased drastically over the last two centuries. Conservation revegetation of set-aside land can help to maintain specialist species and increase the chances of stabilising grassland communities at a landscape scale. Complex planning and long-term data studies are required for successful future restoration. The main objective of this research is to compare the effectiveness of grassland restoration methods on loess grasslands at different spatial scales using constant quadrats. The knowledge gained from the monitoring can help to understand the internal differentiation pathways of restoration in loessy old-fields, thereby increasing the effectiveness of restoration.
