Description of the research topic:
During the research, methods of production of plants colonized by synthetic fungal communities are developed. With these models, the following hypotheses are examined among others: (1) the levels of the specialized antifungal components of plants can be predictably influenced by synthetic communities and (2) the successful asymptomatic colonization of the members of synthetic communities depends on the sensitivity towards the plant antifungals. The research is conducted using generic plant and microbiological techniques as well as modern chemical and bioinformatic analyses.
